The Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5270 replica watch combines chronograph functionality with a perpetual calendar, and presents a unique completely in-house developed piece. The company introduced their first chronographs with perpetual calendars back in 1941. Since the watchmakers are unable to create large quantities of these mechanical instruments, they are even more desired and respected among the collectors. The new watch is made to honor the 70th anniversary of the brand’s first wristwatch with a perpetual calendar and a chronograph, reflecting a design of the original Ref. 1518 model.

The dial

The silvery opalescent dial follows the classical geometry of Patek Philippe’s chronograph watches: the day and the month in apertures at 12 o'clock as well as the date with an integrated moon-phase display at 6 o'clock. A subsidiary seconds is placed at 9 o’clock, opposite to the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock. Two smallest circular apertures at the lower portion of the dial are a day & night indications, on the left, and the leap-year indication on the right.

The core of new Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5270 beats with CH 29-535 PS Q caliber. The watch is manually wound and composed of 456 individual components, to provide 65 hours of power reserve. One of the great advantages is that it uses a Breguet balance spring.

The case

The watch is crafted in 18-carat white gold and nested in 41mm wide case. The resemblance with the previous models is especially noticeable on the rounded rectangular shape of the pushers and the strap lungs. The case-back is transparent, fitted with sapphire crystal glass, and provides a view on the inner mechanism. Mounted on black hand-stitched alligator leather strap, the watch is water resistant to 30 meters and secured to the wrist with a foldover clasp in 18K white gold.
